<p>In die <strong>winter </strong>is wortel- en knolgroente weer volop. Hierdie aardse plesiertjies is propvol vitamiene, minerale en vesel. Dit bevat wel natuurlike suiker, maar is steeds laag in kalorieë. Kies ferm groente met die stingels sowel as die wortels steeds aan. Dit verklap hoe vars die groente is. Eet kleiner groente soos rape, radyse en babawortels binne ’n paar dae. Groter wortelgroente kan langer gestoor word.</p>

<ul>
<li>Maak <strong>kapokaartappels </strong>spesialer en voedsamer deur ’n verskeidenheid knolgroente saam met die aartappels te kook. Probeer wortels, patats en witwortels.</li>
<li>Sny groente soos wortels, witwortels, patats en beet in papierdun <strong>skyfies </strong>(gebruik sommer ’n groenteskiller). Diepbraai in olie en sit as krakerige snoephappie voor. Gebruik ook as versiering vir sop of bredies.</li>
<li>Aangesien groente soos wortels en beet heelwat suiker bevat, kan jy ook <strong>konfyt </strong>of <strong>marmelade </strong>daarvan maak.</li>
<li>Gebruik oorskiet- geroosterde groente in <strong>slaaie </strong>of <strong>koeskoes</strong>.</li>
<li>Voeg knol- en wortelgroente soos patats, beet of wortels by jou aartappel-<em><strong>gratin</strong></em>. Sny in dun skywe en stapel soos gewoonlik tussen die aartappellae. Gooi laastens room oor en bak tot sag.</li>
