Antwoord 1: The fact that not a day goes by without being in contact with either of them (I have two daughters, Angelina and Jacqueline). Both are my clone, but in different ways - I find them interesting and inspiring; they are very different characters: Angelina is bubbly and wears her heart on her sleeve and Jacqueline is the quiet one with a clever little head on her. They both show me every single day that they appreciate me and I find that very soothing. It grounds me and I know that raising them was my biggest accomplishment yet.

Antwoord 2: We go through thick and thin: a divorce when they were just 3 and 5; moving countries; losing our dear granny to Alzheimer’s (my mom), helping Jacqui through her divorce after only 2 years of marriage is the latest episode of a very difficult and emotionally fragile time. We grow closer through every tragedy. It is a special relationship, not without differences of opinion, but always remembering that our love for each other will shine through in the end.

Antwoord 3: Listen to understand, not to respond. Respect boundaries and value each other’s opinions. Above all, be there for one another, even if the timing is off. A daughter is the greatest gift and I am lucky to have 2!
