5 ml nutmeg
10 ml ground cinnamon
2 apples, cut into thin rings
juice of 1 lemon
1 Cover both sides of each apple slice with lemon juice and put on a bake sheet lined with baking paper.
2 Dry the apples.
3 Mix the spices with the cream cheese icing and spread over the cakes.
4 Garnish with dry apple slices.
Apple and ginger cupcakes

2 Cool and lift the apples from the syrup.
3 Mix with the batter and together with 60 ml (¼ c) ginger in syrup, finely chopped.

250 g (250 ml) cream cheese
80 g icing sugar
10 ml lemon juice
1 Beat the cream cheese until smooth. Sift the icing sugar and mix thoroughly.
2 Add the lemon juice and stir.
